Once you begin to explore things beyond just the language itself, you discover the Perl community. CPAN is a significant part of that community and one that I'm happy to have made a small contribution to. Another virtual hotspot is PerlMonk's—a site I've spent more time on lately then, certainly, the pages you are reading. My second home page is at the Monestary and clearly it suffers from neglect as well!
